The CTO's strategy for Caribbean Tourism strongly features IT. The public-facing DoItCaribbean site has been designed to make it easier for the potential visitor to the Caribbean to find out more about and book their
Caribbean holiday.
The OneCaribbean intranet and extranet makes it easier for the CTO membership and affilliates around the world to work with CTO and with each other, and gives them better and more timely information on Caribbean
tourism.
It's about easier communication and easier access to contacts and private information. Different groups of members with shared interests or responsibilities can independently set up and administer their own private group chat rooms, discussion forums, document libraries and calendars, keeping sensitive information private to share between themselves, and publishing non-sensitive documents for the benefit of the wider CTO community. Hotmail-style OneCaribbean e-mail accounts are integrated into the system and with members' existing e-mail accounts to allow them to send and receive e-mail wherever they go.
Allied with the inventory and management components offered by CTO's management information systems, OneCaribbean and DoItCaribbean present an integrated system to oil the wheels of Caribbean tourism.
Together, they are making the Caribbean easier to enjoy for tourists, easier to work with for agents and suppliers, and easier to promote for member countries.
Registration to OneCaribbean is only available to those directly involved with Caribbean tourism. Although limited facilities and information are available to unregistered visitors at www.onecaribbean.org
